Cheesecake Without Cheese (Cheat Version)

Image
I am a big fan of cheesecakes. I have tried different versions, until I came across this cheat recipe, through one of my friends. I must tell you I have never gone back to the original recipe ever since. This is so easy, and you can whip this up in just 5 mins. So if you are here for the original recipe, sorry this post is not for you.😁 Ingredients: Yogurt - 400gms Sweet Condensed Milk - 400gms Biscuits - 1-2 packets Butter - 1-2 tbs Topping- 1/2 cup (Optional) Directions: Crumble the biscuits in a food processor or by hand and transfer to a bowl. Melt the butter and pour on the biscuit crumbs and mix till texture is like wet sand In another bowl, pour the yogurt and condensed milk and mix together. Take a microwave-safe dish, pour the biscuit mix and layer evenly with a spoon or underside of a glass. Carefully pour the yogurt mix over the biscuit base. Microwave it for 2-5 mins, till it sets. Refrigerate for 2-3 hrs and serve. Tips: You can increase or decrease the quanti

One of the easiest, and my go-to breakfast, on lazy Saturday mornings. I am not gonna lie, I sometimes even crave for this dish.🤗 Ingredients: Bread - few slices Eggs- 2 Milk - 1cup Vanilla Essence Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp Powdered Sugar - 1 tbs ( optional) Directions: In a bowl, add the milk, eggs, cinnamon powder, vanilla essence, and sugar. Whisk all together well.  In a frying pan, add butter. Take a bread piece and soak a little in the mix prepared above, transfer it to the pan and fry with medium heat, till you see light brown color on both sides.  Serve with maple syrup, honey, or chocolate syrup. Tips: Do not soak the bread in the mix for too long, it will be very soggy and difficult to transfer it to the frying pan or Tawa.

During school days in the gulf, we used to get this side dish with KFC and Pizza a lot. Could successfully recreate this wonderful dish from memory, and here is the recipe for that 😋 Ingredients: White Cabbage- 2 Cups Red cabbage- 1/4 cup  Carrot -1/2 cup Onion - small Mayonaise- 1/2 cup Sugar - 1 tsp Vinegar- 1/2 tsp Lemon juice- 1 tsp Salt - to taste Pepper powder - 1 tsp Directions: Shred the onion, cabbage, and carrots. Add a bowl, along with the other ingredients.  Mix all together and keep in the refrigerator for half an hour and serve. Tips: Adding the red cabbage is optional, but it adds some color to the dish. You can decrease or increase the mayonnaise, according to how you like it. Alternatively, you can add half of the mayo and half yogurt or more of mayo and little of yogurt, if you're health-conscious. You can either add vinegar or lime juice, no need to add both.

If you love munching popcorn, I promise, you're going to love this version. Ingredients: Corn kernels - 1/2 cup Sugar - 1/2 cup Butter - 1 tbs Soda bicarbonate(baking soda) - 1/2 tsp Butter/oil - 2-3 tbs Directions: In a medium-size pressure cooker, heat oil, add the corn kernels Keep stirring on medium heat, till it turns light in color. Close the lid and turn to high heat, wait for the popcorn to start popping and take off the lid till you stop hearing the sound. Transfer to a bowl and let it cool. In a large Kadai or pan, spread the sugar evenly, and turn the heat to medium. Immediately take off the stove, add the baking soda and keep stirring, you see the caramel starts foaming, add the popcorn and mix from underneath, till all the popcorn is coated. Transfer to a

This is traditionally a Mexican cooked and mashed beans. I started making this, when I made loaded nachos. This recipe is used as an ingredient as well as a side dish or dips for many Mexican dishes. Ingredients: Dry Red Beans - 1 cup Olive Oil- 1 tbs Onion- 1 Garlic- 4-5 cloves Chipotle adobo sauce or powder- 1/2 tbs Water/veg stock - 1 cup Directions: Soak the beans overnight. Drain and pressure cook them for 4-5 whistles or till they become soft and mushy. In Pan, add some oil, Garlic, and Onions. Saute for some while. Add chipotle sauce or powder and the beans. Saute for some time and mash the beans to your desired consistency. Add water and salt. Keep stirring till it becomes semi gravy consistency. Tips: For cutting short cooking time, you can get the store-bought canned baked/ cooked beans. But I prefer to make from scratch, dry beans. If you don't have the chipotle sauce or powder, you can use the paprika or red chili powder. You can

Homemade Popcorn

This is one snack I love which has zero calories. Who knew you could make popcorn at home and that too without a popcorn machine. It's that simple and easy. You can have it for teatime, movie nights, and sleepovers. You can make this in different variations, salted, caramel, or Piri Piri. Ingredients: Corn kernels - 1/2 Cup Butter/Oil - 2 tbs Salt - to taste Directions: In a pressure cooker, heat oil, add the corn kernels, mix them on medium heat, till you start seeing the corn turning light in color. Close the lid, turn the heat on high. You will start hearing the sound of the corn popping.  Turn off the stove when you stop hearing the popping sound.  Transfer to a bowl sprinkle some salt and serve. Tips: The pressure cooker should be big enough to hold the popped corn inside.  Alternatively you can use a heavy-bottomed large Kadai with a tightly closed lid. For making the Piri Piri version, just sprinkle the Piri powder over the popcorn

Meat Lasagna

During my school days, I had once stumbled upon this cuisine, in a restaurant, and its taste lingered in my head. Years later after I got married, with the recipes out there on the internet, I decided to try making it at home. I have to admit, it felt like a brain drain at first, the lasagna sheets and the cheese were not only easily available here in India, it was expensive too. But with years of experimenting, I found out that you can make this dish with other alternatives and it tastes just the same and great too 😄👍 INGREDIENTS: Lasagne sheets/pasta For White sauce (béchamel sauce) Butter- 1 tbsp. Flour - 1 tbsp. Milk- 500ml Pepper powder - 2tsp Parsley- 1tsp Nutmeg powder - pinch Crushed Garlic - 1 clove Mozzarella/ Cheddar cheese(grated) - 200gms or 100gms of both Salt - to taste For Meat sauce Meat(minced) - 1/2 kg Onion - 1 med size (chopped) Garlic - 4 cloves (chopped) Basil (dried or fresh) - 1tsp Oregano (dried or fresh) - 1 tsp
